In Act 1 of Arcane Season 2, a new character named Isha has captured the hearts of viewers with her innocence and bravery. This young girl, with her brown hair and wide-eyed expression, first appears in Episode 2, titled “Watch It All Burn.”
Isha’s appearance has reminded many fans of the time when Jinx was simply Powder, the sweet, innocent child before her tragic transformation. Here, we’ll take a closer look at who is she in Arcane and consider what her presence could mean for Jinx’s character development.
Who is Isha in Arcane Season 2?
Isha is introduced while trying to escape a group of men chasing her through the tunnels of Zaun. Desperately running for her life, she eventually stumbles and falls directly onto Jinx, just as she attempts to jump over a broken section of the tunnel.
When the men catch up, Jinx steps in to defend her, using her firepower to keep the pursuers at bay. It seems likely that Isha, a homeless child surviving off scraps, may have stolen something from these men, sparking the chase.
Nonetheless, Jinx’s protective action leaves a strong impression on Isha, who begins to see something like family in the chaotic, unpredictable Jinx. This bond quickly deepens, as she chooses to stay with Jinx, sensing that perhaps she has finally found someone to look after her.
A particularly emotional moment occurs later when Vi confronts Jinx and, in the heat of their conflict, is about to strike her. Isha bravely steps in between them, pointing a gun at Vi to defend Jinx. Although Caitlyn quickly disarms her, her loyalty to Jinx is evident as she refuses to abandon her, even in such a dangerous situation.
This new relationship echoes past events in Arcane, where we saw Vander take in young Vi and Powder after they lost their parents in the Piltover-Zaun conflict. Vander had a soft spot for the two orphaned girls and decided to raise them as his own, attempting to shield them from the violence around them.
He even chose to leave behind his own violent past and devote himself to providing a safe home for them. Similarly, Isha may come to mean something significant for Jinx, who has since become hardened and driven by revenge. Now, Jinx is a figure who thrives on chaos and destruction, seemingly unconcerned with her own safety or the safety of others.
However, Isha’s presence could act as a small spark of hope that rekindles the memory of Powder, the innocent girl Jinx used to be. Isha has the potential to become a key figure in Jinx’s life, much like Vi and Powder were for Vander.
