Since the game’s first release, most players have felt the urge for Riot to include a champion ban system. After a lengthy period of silence, a member of the Wild Rift operation team just publicly provided fresh information regarding this system, according to which players will be able to ban champions in ranked mode in the next update.

Riot Soundwave, a member of the game’s development team, recently commented on the implementation of a champion ban mechanism in the next edition in a post on Wild Rift’s Reddit page. As a result, in the next update, players will be allowed to ban three champions at the beginning of a match. This number will increase from three to five banned champions in the following one to three patches.

Furthermore, Soundwave stated that you would be able to pre-select champions you wish to play in that game. During the early ban-pick phase, however, the champion you wish to play may still be banned.

The banning mechanism has been the most demanded by players in each update since the beginning of the first ranked season. According to Riot Soundwave, the publisher intends to prioritize the location selection system in the game and increase the champion pool of Wild Rift before implementing this ban system.

“The ban is a very difficult issue that we must address. As noted in the post, the banning system is heavily reliant on the amount of champions that Wild Rift currently has,” Riot Soundwave explained.

As a result, if the banning mechanism is implemented from the start of Wild Rift, players will be able to ban too many champions from the game, which negatively impact the gameplay experience of many people as the number of champions grows. The game’s initials are few and far between. Thus, after a lengthy wait, the ban system will be accessible in the future version of Wild Rift.
