The World 2020 Final has officially ended with a convincing victory in favor of DAMWON Gaming. However, players around the world are still raging because of the somewhat negative attitude of the host audiences.
Fan’s disappointed attitude to the host country
It is estimated that more than 6,000 spectators were allowed to enter the field to watch the match. And of course, as the home team, Suning Gaming has received enthusiastic cheers from fans. But it is worth mentioning that, Chinese fans have not behaved “friendly” with members of DAMWON Gaming.
Specifically, in the introduction part before the match, not a single applause came from the audience of the home team for DWG players. Even after the host’s leading speech in Chinese, some DWG members didn’t even know it was their turn to greet the audience because there was no welcome move. This has made online streamìng audiences feel extremely frustrated.
Some critical comments from fans:
“The crowd not cheering for DWG was incredibly disrespectful from the Chinese crowd. I hope riot are taking note of this. I’m glad DWG won to disappoint the crowd.”

“If you are wondering why the music is louder than the crowd during this moment, its not because they cover it with music its because people left”

“This is an international match, but the organizers only speak Chinese, the audience discriminates and leaves as soon as the home team loses.
Next year, it will be agains, if china is hosting.”

Chinese fans’ compromise
However, there’re still some replies from Chinese fans to explain to everybody what exactly happened. They are earned a lot of positive responses from the community to sympathize with them.
“Chinese social media are full of congrats/die-hard fans cry/analysis, and I check tweeter feed and I saw many ppl focus on “why the audiences didn’t cheer for them!”, they’re die-hard fans what u expect…So how about just save the energy and clap for the DWG.
PLUS I really think they are more angry/sad toward the home-team than “I don’t want to congrats them!” type of mindset honestly… I can even translate the # page of the Chinese lol viewer into eng if anyone curious… U know what? NVM, this is the moment for DWG. congratulation”

After all, although not supported by the fans, DAMWON Gaming still showed its bravery and maturity. After 4 games, DWG had for the first time in history to be the World Crown and helped LCK fans to meet their wishes after more than 2 years of waiting!
