An amazing way of Shanghai government for welcoming Worlds 2020.
The Shanghai City recently surprised the League community worldwide by decorating Shanghai street manhole covers in preparation for the 2020 Worlds, with symbols of 16 teams competing in the Group Stage.
Many people would likely not get a very good impression when it comes to the manhole cover. It must be emphasized, however, that these coverings are not unhygienic or trivial, but are “urban culture manhole covers”, the symbol that represents the urban growth of Shanghai.
The location of these manhole coverings is also on the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Walkway, Shanghai, one of the world’s busiest shopping streets along with Fifth Avenue and Times Square, as well. Interestingly enough, these manholes are more strictly guarded than many other public buildings and if it were stolen or damaged, it will pose a lot of danger to tourists.
Many visitors were fascinated by the fact that the manhole covers have already been changed into a new image. The photos below are all taken simultaneously by gamers, tourists and locals. They have expressed their excitement to equate these manhole coverings as “Hollywood Walk of Fame” and its arrival is cooler than ever for the 2020 World Championship.
