Lil Nas X will be the voice of the 2022 World Championship in the official Worlds anthem, “Star Walkin,” after making his debut in the League of Legends community with the 100 Thieves collaboration in 2021.
One of the most eagerly awaited events of the League of Legends World Championship is the playing of the Worlds song. Who better to add some Atlanta flavor to the song than pop culture phenomenon and recording artist Lil Nas X given that this year’s Worlds are taking place in North America and beginning their group stage in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lil Nas X declares himself the new “President” of League of Legends in a parody video announcement made by Riot Games. He tells the camera that he has “chosen to be the new President of League of Legends – you can name me Lil Nas Xecutive,” complete with a gold-decorated office.
On September 23, Lil Nas X will release the Worlds Anthem, “Star Walkin,” despite the fact that this may be a time after his first appearance on the Riot Games board of directors.
The first World Championship to begin in North America since 2016 will begin with the eighth Worlds anthem in League history. Additionally, he will play the song at the 2022 World Championship finals’ opening ceremony in San Francisco at the Chase Center.
Lil Nas X will not only be a singer for Riot
He collaborated with Riot Games in a first-of-its-kind project to design a skin for League’s newest unannounced champion, K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah. K’Sante is a warrior from one of Shurima’s oldest tribal cities, as teased in a developer update video earlier in 2022.
The skin, known as Prestige Empyrean K’Sante, will go on sale on November 3 and be accessible to acquire until November 14 using Worlds 2022 tokens obtained by completing in-game activities. The release of the skin, which will coincide with K’Sante’s debut as League’s newest champion, is very likely.
