Worlds Play-ins day 4 has concluded. Fnatic and DRX topped the groups and will advance to the Group Stage while EG and RNG secure 2nd place and are 1 Bo5 away.

Flawless performance from LCK 4th seed

Despite being put in the much harder group B and not being highly evaluated coming into the tournament, DRX gave Korean fans a pleasant surprise crushing their group rather effortlessly, going 5-0 in dominant fashion.

Faker stirred some controversy after recently claiming there isn’t much a gap between LCK and LPL, since LPL has been dominating recent international tournaments, but this result proved the GOAT’s point: Korean teams are very much still toe to toe with the Chinese

MSI winners RNG were the favorites coming into the Play-ins but will have to win 1 more Bo5 to reach the Groups

Impact carries EG to victory in 2 tiebreakers to close out Play-ins day 4

EG missed their chance to contend 1st place with Fnatic after losing to Japanese squad DetonatioN earlier in the day and also put themselves in a 3-way tie with DFM and LOUD. Even worse, they were seeded below LLL due to game duration.

Not a problem. Jojopyun’s bombastic performance on Akali and Azir makes sure Kaori has all the space to close out the tiebreakers. Veteran toplaner Impact showed the young guns he very much still got it with a 9-0-10 score on Mordekaiser in the game vs LLL.

And with that the brackets for tomorrow’s Play-ins knockouts are set:
