Jakob ‘YamatoCannon’ Mebdi, the League of Legends coach for Fnatic, has provided an explanation for Riot Games’ silence about the problem that helps disqualified Top Esports from the Worlds 2022.
One of the main talking topics at the current World Championship has been the prevalence of bugs in League of Legends, with fans’ frustration reaching a fever pitch after a recent group match between Top Esports and GAM Esports.
On October 16, content producer Vandiril alleged that a bug with the item Maw of Malmortius may have lost Top Esports the match and a place in the tournament’s quarterfinals. He claimed that the item did not function as anticipated since Yu ‘JackeyLove’ Wen-Bo was not protected from the ultimate utilized by ‘Levi’ Duy Khánh’s Karthus.
If the item had nullified damage as it should have, JackeyLove would have probably been able to land the game-ending blows on GAM’s Nexus. GAM, on the other hand, managed to withstand the attack and alter the tide of the match, claiming the group stage’s lone victory.
YamatoCannon has now given his perspective on the situation, stating that Riot Games would probably keep quiet about it because no one noticed the glitch when the game was being played.
I remember games where I saw bugs from backstage and I couldn’t even fight to pause or chronobreak.

Top Esports and DRX and Rogue would have tied for third place in Group C if Top Esports had won the relevant match. These two teams then competed against one another in a tiebreaker match for seed, with the LCK team winning.
