The latest Project L trailer introduces Yasuo, revealing their forthcoming moves and strategies through gameplay and narrative.
Yasuo is one of the most popular characters in League of Legends, so it’s no surprise that he was one of the first characters unveiled for Project L, the new League of Legends fighting game.
Riot Games today released a new teaser for its future League of Legends combat game, codenamed “Project L,” as well as a new playable character, The Unforgiven.
The champion’s audience popularity in League of Legends, paired with his fighting game-like playstyle in League, makes him an ideal fit for Project L.
Yasuo Gameplay revealed for Project L
Alex Jaffe, Project L’s lead champion designer, outlined his kit in the video demonstrating what he’s capable of.
He unveiled some of the more intricate components of his kit, such as the fact that he has various postures and uses iconic elements of his League abilities, such as his Wind Wall and tornadoes.
Yasuo can transition between stances that sheathe his sword, allowing him to wind up for some powerful blows. His normals have a great amount of range and sweep across big swaths of the screen, in addition to his utility.
His kit appears to be inspired by Nagoriyuki from Guilty Gear: Strive, with aspects of a fast swordfighter like Vergil from Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Previous trailers of the fighting game looked extremely promising, and Yasuo’s gameplay continues to amaze. The animation is as beautiful as ever, with tonnes of personality, and Yasuo’s moveset appears to be highly diverse.
While no release date has been set for Project L, we may expect to hear more about Yasuo and the other available characters from the EVO 2023 playtest.
