The bug has just recently popped up since Patch 11.8.
The League of Bug striked again.
One thing that has become obvious in League of Legends is that you can never play the same champion with your teammates, except for the One For All mode, which is opened limitedly each year. However, a new bug has just appeared in League of Legends since the release of Patch 11.8 has allowed players to play the same champions in certain situations in ARAM mode.
Recently, a gamer on the BR server tweeted about an ARAM game where there are two Teemos in the same team. Many players doubted that it was fake until Vandiril – The bug god – made an entire video about an ARAM match where there are two Varus in the same team.
If you remember, in the article “Ask Riot” published 3 weeks ago, the creators of League of Legends stated that you cannot roll out the same champion with your teammates in ARAM mode. But this changed in patch 11.8 as the evidence above is undeniable. Now gamers are able to roll out champions coinciding with teammates in this game mode.
According to the speculation of “Holy bug” Vandiril, this bug may be caused by Riot made major tweaks to the ARAM mode in patch 11.8. It is possible that the visual interface upgrade or the buffs or nerfs of the champions had created some conflict in the League of Legends code. And it is the conflict that created the above problem.
Fortunately, this bug has not caused too many negative interactions on League’s gameplay. However, logically, having two or more players using the same champion outside of One For All mode is very absurd. Hopefully, Riot Games will soon find out the cause of the mentioned issue and fix it as quickly as possible.
