It’s official: Dr Mundo’s rework is on the way
This follows a series of announcements and teases about his rework on abilities and visual appearance along with how they plan to proceed. They shared a lot of detail about Dr Mundo during the League of Legends 2021 Livestream. Fans might be wondering when the rework will be out. With that being said, Riot reveals the rework Mundo splash arts of Rageborn Mundo:
Previous Reworked Champions’ Schedule
It was revealed at the beginning of 2020 that Fiddlesticks and Volibear had been chosen to be reworked. Two and five months later, they were released, respectively. This is most definitely attributed to the fact that they’re constantly developing new champions.
Riot has stated that they expect to release six champions every year, or one per two months, so they’ll have to work around this new timeline.
In a Dev article about Dr Mundo VGU Update, Riot confirmed that Mundo will be reworked and released in 2021. Subsequently, at the first few days of January 2021, Riot teased Dr Mundo’s very detailed VFX and abilities. But then recently, an insight reports that Dr Mundo should be coming soon. This was stated at a Chinese League of Legends site about the next Champion Roadmap. Around this time last year, the same thing happened to Volibear, and he was released in the middle of May.
Dr Mundo release date
All in all, it appears that the Dr Mundo Rework will be released either on May 12 with Patch 11.10 or on May 26 with Patch 11.11. This is only an estimated information and it’s possible that Riot will postponed the process and interfere with the release date. Until then, fans are looking forward to seeing this new Mundo.
