The unusual mechanics of Akshan are progressively becoming more known to solo queue players. However, a recent game demonstrates that there is still a lot to learn, particularly about his revive mechanic.
In a match that immediately went viral across Reddit, a Kindred player scored a pentakill that lost his team the game. Normally, a pentakill means an immediate win in the late game, but this isn’t always the case.
The player was able to secure a quadra kill in the game while pushing towards the enemy’s base for the victory. They were almost at the verge of winning the match at this time. The team, however, chose to dive the fountain to give Kindred his pentakill. Akshan was the final enemy to die, though he managed to take out the Kindred while falling.
What the Kindred probably didn’t consider was that he would revive all of his teammates, allowing him to change the game around. Because this occurred so late in the game, his team was able to claim their way back into the game and eventually win.
Is Akshan really OP at the moment?
We all know that the champion’s debut in the game remains one of the worst in League of Legends’ history. He was so weak that Riot even had to buff him twice just after his release on the live servers. Perhaps those buffs really impact the champion’s playstyle after all since Akshan is becoming relatively usable in Solo queue and he does perform well.
Assuming this champion continues to be played on Summoner’s Rift, this isn’t likely to be his final mind-blowing move. Crazy plays are also expected to occur as soon as the he is allowed to be played on the professional tournament.
