Arcane pick up multiple wins at the 2022 Emmy Awards

Arcane was one of Netflix’s biggest successes in 2021, and praise for it came from all quarters, not just League of Legends aficionados. The program has now had even more success, taking home many Emmy Awards in 2022.

Arcane won three different prizes for its beautiful, distinctive animation after the results of certain juried Individual Achievement in Animation categories were announced.

Scriptwriter Anne-Laure saw color in the episode “The Boy Saviour.” Julien Georgel won an award for “Happy Progress Day!” art direction, while Bruno Couchinho won an Emmy for the “When These Walls Come Tumbling Down” background design.

The major prize, the Outstanding Animated Program, has not yet been given, but Arcane is still in the race. The Netflix series needs to defeat powerhouses like Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Marvel’s What If…? to win this award.

Arcane’s exact comparison to this competition won’t be known until the September 12 Emmy Awards.

Arcane, a record-breaking animated League hit that ran nine episodes over three sections, was published by Netflix in November 2021 to close out the year’s final quarter. Given its popularity, a second season of the show is unavoidably in the works.

The second season of the show is slated to premiere sometime in 2023 or at the very latest 2024, though little is currently known about what will happen in it or when fans will be able to see it.

As the 2022 award season progresses, League of Legends and Arcane’s prospects are looking strong thanks to these Emmy victories and the potential for the big one.
