There are now over 162 unique champions in League of Legends. As a result, Riot must continuously balance the game such that the majority of champions remain relevant and stay up with the meta.

Udyr is the most recent champion to be reworked. Because he was one of the first champions to be introduced in League of Legends, his kit quickly went out of date. However, following his revamp, he was performing better than ever.

Later in preseason 2023, Riot said that they were experimenting with a new form of update called CGU, which they were testing with Aurelion Sol.

CGU, or Comprehensive Gameplay Update, is a new type of rework in which Riot overhauls a champion’s whole kit without modifying their aesthetics.

Unfortunately, Riot postponed Aurelion Sol’s update a few months ago. However, Riot King Cobra may have recently announced the release date of Aurelion Sol’s rework on Discord.

As previously stated, according to a Reddit post, Riot King Cobra announced on Discord that A Sol’s CGU will be available in early 2023. Furthermore, he claimed that A Sol’s rework would be released immediately following Ahri’s ASU.

According to recent rumors, Ahri’s ASU will be introduced in patch 13.1 along with her Lunar New Year skin. Furthermore, because the patch will feature Lunar New Year-themed skins, it will be released before the Lunar New Year 2023. As a result, patch 13.1 is expected to be released in early January.

If that’s the case, Aurelion Sol’s CGU will appear in one of the upcoming patches. The CGU for Aurelion Sol should be available in late January or early February.
