Bang retires from professional play to serve his military obligations

Former World champion, Bang, has announced his retirement from the professional tournament after 10 years of competing.

Yesterday on December 6, former marksmen of SKT T1, Bae “Bang” Jun-sik unexpectedly posted on his Instagram account announcing his retirement and that he will complete his military obligations in the near future.

“Hello everyone, this is Bang.

Being a professional gamer for about 10 years and this year being my last, I am officially announcing my retirement as a professional gamer and will be fulfilling my duty in the military service.”

Bang will leave Afreeca Freecs, his current team to perform his duty in the Korean military service.

Throughout the player’s whole career, he has established many achievements and met many new and memorable friends. Bang’s career began in 2012 when he joined NaJin Shield as the team’s starting AD carry. But he didn’t make a reputation for himself until years later when he joined SK Telecom T1 S.

He met his long-time bot lane companion Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, with whom he made history. Following a regulation change in the league, the duo was elevated to the team’s main team and went on to win World Championships in 2015 and 2016. This is the peak of his career and also his best achievements.

“I was able to form many valuable relationships, accumulate precious memories and make various achievements in my lifetime,”

“These experiences are something that I feel blessed and most grateful of.”

The former SKT T1 Marksman always understands how to battle around the team and communicate incredibly well with teammates, for that he will be missed on the League of Legends professional tournaments.
