Bard has been a champion that receives many bugs across the game, this time, he is disabled due to another in-game issues.  Riot is working on a solution towards the interaction, according to a notification in the client, which can be accessed by clicking the red warning button next to the play button.

According to Vandiril’s video, the problem appears to be caused by an issue with Bard’s E interacting with either Anivia’s wall or Trundle’s pillar. If a player uses Bard’s E and then exits into a building built by Anivia or Trundle, the game will collapse for all players. This interaction looks to be unpredictable and will not work every time, but it is still a significant problem for the game, especially in ranked games.

Thus, Riot disables the champion, which prevents him from being played in any game mode, including ARAM and ranked games. It is unknown when Bard will be reintroduced into the game again, but Riot is anticipated to fix the issue as soon as possible.

For many patches, Bard has been a solid yet controversial choice in the support role. He is commonly picked by players wishing to make a roaming and ganking playstyle due to his unique Magical Journey of traveling the map, and the ability to set invulnerable state for both allies and enemies, but isn’t always an easy champion to learn.

For now, it’s unknown when this weird bug between Bard and Anivia or Trundle will be resolved, enabling Bard to be selected in-game again.
