The long journey ahead for Riot to balance all the items in League of Legends since the complete overhaul of the item system introduced earlier this Season.
If you recall, Riot Games had spoken a lot about “diversification” item choices with the Mythic items system during Pre-Season 2021. That is Riot Games’ objective, however, this “diversification” has yet to be seen in the Mythic item set for Bruiser champions. At the moment, Divine Sunderer and Goredrinker have a significantly higher buy rate than Stridebreaker and Trinity Force.
Divine Sunderer and Goredrinker currently have a combined buy rate of over 20%, which is 5 times higher than Stridebreaker and Trinity Force’s pick rates.
Divine Sunderer has rapidly become one of the outstanding Mythic items after being buffed in League Patch 11.11. This item was too ideal for Bruiser champions since it dealt damage dependent on the opponent’s maximum health while also providing decent recovery. Meanwhile, Trinity Force only provides extra damage. It is obvious that most players would select Divine Sunderer over Trinity Force for a comparable price but greater healing and overall better performance in long-term combats.
Meanwhile, Stridebreaker is no longer as strong as it once was following a series of severe nerfs. This item still deals significant damage, however, Goredrinker accomplishes the same effect while also providing excellent healing. Stridebreaker’s activation may have the ability to slow, but unlike Goredrinker, this item does not provide significant combat survivability.
Goredrinker is far more popular among gamers than Trinity Force or Stridebreaker due to its great recovery ability, Divine Sunderer. Riot should lower the recovery of the items listed above such that they are no longer a viable option in the long run. Trinity Force and Stridebreaker will become more valued as a result, increasing the buy rate and achieve the “diversification” that they have been aiming for ever since.
