It seems that Viktor is set to receive a rework in the next few months.
Riot Games appears to be putting a lot of effort into Arcane-themed content as the second season of Arcane launches on November 9, 2024. They’re rolling out special skins inspired by the show for popular characters like Vi, Singed, and Caitlyn. To mark the event, Jinx is also receiving a unique high-tier skin called an “Exalted skin.”
Additionally, the ARAM game mode is getting a fresh map called “Bridge of Progress,” which is based on the world of Arcane. And, according to files on the PBE, Viktor might be getting a significant rework as well. Back in 2021, Riot released an ASU for Caitlyn to celebrate the first season of Arcane, and it looks like Viktor will be next in line for a major update.
Viktor’s Rework in 2024
Yesterday, the PBE for League of Legends was updated, introducing a range of new content. Riot Games added 4 Arcane-themed skins along with new icons to celebrate the upcoming season.
Among these icons was one for Viktor, which appeared noticeably different from the one that is currently in the game. Initially, many fans assumed this was a preview of a new skin, but data miners soon discovered that the changes are actually part of a larger rework.
Unlike Caitlyn’s 2021 ASU, which mainly focused on updating her character model, Viktor’s rework will be a full VGU (Visual and Gameplay Update). This means he will receive not only a visual overhaul but also new abilities and updated voice lines.
While we don’t yet know exactly how Viktor’s reimagined appearance will look, it’s expected to have elements inspired by his character design in Arcane Season 2. The official release date for this rework is still uncertain, but it’s likely to arrive with Patch 14.24, which is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
