Patch 13.8 brings back the Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skin line
Riot Games unveiled new skins for League of Legends twice in a single day, but while the first revelation excited players, the second disappointed them.
The Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skins are a pair of Versus skins that were first introduced in 2017. Dawnbringer Riven and Nightbringer Yasuo were the first two skins released in the skin series. Riot has since released a slew of Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skins. These skins were last introduced in 2021. And finally, the skin line is making a comeback after a year.
This year, four champions will be featured in the skin line: Vayne, Jarvan IV, Renekton, and Nasus. But, it seems like fans aren’t that excited.
League of Legends 2023 Dawnbringer – Nightbringer skins
The community’s responses to the new skins introduced to the 2017 theme have included words like boring, uninspired, and “cheap copy” of other skins that these champions already have.
For some, these days theme releases just don’t deliver anymore, and the missed potential of converting some champions to the dark side appears to have been the final nail in the coffin.
“I usually liked Nightbringer and Dawnbringer, but these are all starting to look the same and the choices are also a bit disappointing, Vayne already has Arclight and Nasus Infernal”
The opposite sentiment appears to be focused on the visual FX of Nightbringer Nasus’ recall, which drew a lot of favourable feedback as well as numerous parallels to the champion’s Infernal skin.
Nasus also finally shares a skin line with his ascended sibling Renekton with the inclusion of the Nightbringer vs. Dawnbringer skin line for the first time since the Galactic skins were introduced in 2011.
Hate it or love it, the 2023 Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skins comes at an unexpected event, and it sure looks quite decent in terms of the design.
