Doublelift announces his retirement from League of Legends

Unfortunately for Doublelift, as he was forced to close his dream of making it to the Worlds Group stages.

A week ago, it was rumored that Doublelift said it would only play if there were a top-tier international support player in other regions. But at the end of the day when TSM was almost done with the SwordArt contract, the 27-year-old veteran publicly announced retirement via his personal Twitter account:

Throughout his career, the NA legendary bot lane gained 2,098 kills, 486 games and 8 LCS Titles in the domestic tournament. As for the international stage, he has made eight times to Worlds, two times attending MSI and achieved the greatest performance as MSI 2019 runner-up. He has experienced many ups and downs with various teams, both in the game and in real life.

Unlike his best friend Bjergsen, who retired and became Team SoloMid coach, Doublelift has yet to indicate his future. But as fans speculate, both his mates and his lover are part of Team SoloMid, so perhaps he would be a streamer or management role in the team.

Doublelift is certainly one of the most successful players in the history of the NA. His journey ahead though has just started.
