T1 Faker had a relatively easy win over HLE Chovy
T1 and HLE have rematched in the quarter-finals of Worlds 2021, 50 days after their 2021 Summer LCK. However, the match between T1 and HLE wasn’t very fierce; but the game ended with a score of 3 – 0. After the victory, Faker shared about the next match and confirmed that he will do his best to win the number one spot.
During the post-match conference with the LCK broadcast, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok said: “I think that we were able to perform better than I initially expected, so I feel great. We’ll have to prepare well for the semifinals.”
It is known that T1 and HLE have faced each other 6 times in 2021 (including the quarter-finals of Worlds 2021). At the moment, T1 is a very strong team. Faker and his teammates successfully improved the shortcomings from the LCK summer period and progressed to Worlds 2021 with the most confident style.
After the quarterfinals win against HLE, T1 will face the winner of the match between DK and MAD in the SemiFinals. The Eternal King revealed that he wants to play in a different bracket and wants to face DK at Worlds 2021 Finals.
And when it comes to Faker’s mind, DK will be the next team to enter the semifinals and face T1 as DK being the strongest contender at Worlds. This time, Faker is guarantee to have a rematch with DK at the semifinals.
“I think the semis will probably be the LCK Summer finals rematch, because DWG KIA will probably be the ones to meet us there.”
“Truth be told, I always wanted to face DWG KIA at Worlds. It would’ve been more fun to meet them in the finals, but meeting them in the semis will be just as fun. I’m excited.”
