Faker shared his opinion on T1, Worlds 2022, their opponents, and more

With Worlds 2022 already stepping into its game, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has shared some of his thoughts on the tournament

Almost every League of Legends fan considers Faker to be the best League of Legends player of all time. But, instead of focusing on himself this year, he hopes to lead his younger teammates to the group’s fourth World Championship.

He stated in an interview with Dot Esports that the current state of T1 has extremely distinct feelings right now. Faker, on the other hand, has spent the last year working with these rising players to establish their team environment and framework for success.

As a result, Faker must become more than just a teammate and leader; he must also become an elder brother.

He also stated that the “really smooth communication between each other” has resulted in amazing outcomes and has assisted the former jungler in communicating with and encouraging their younger players to perform at their best. This link should be critical if T1 is to survive the tournament’s “Group of Death.”

T1’s main group will include the 2022 LCS winners Cloud9, the reigning World Champions EDG, and a team from the tournament’s play-in stage.

“It’s beneficial that we can finally meet EDG again. I think this is a really good test for us based on matchups,”

“I can’t tell if this group is strong or weak… I think this group is pretty normal. But like I said, since EDG won Worlds last year, it’ll be good to test our ability”

It goes without saying that the LCK and LPL are significantly favored to win when compared to other regions. When asked which region is stronger, Faker says his region still has a tiny advantage.

“There’s not a huge gap between the LCK and the LPL, but I think the LCK is better than the LPL.”

While Faker didn’t mind discussing his thoughts on other teams and areas, he also didn’t appear afraid or discouraged by any opponent. Above all, Faker wishes to win again.

After the group stage, Faker stated that, while he would want to play against other teams, he would like to get revenge on Gen.G in a best-of-five match.

All of the teams are formidable contenders for the championship. But for the time being, fans will have to wait until the group stage begins on October 7.
