Garena’s parent company lost 1.46 billion USD in 2019. They are now discretely removing game features in an effort to save money

Garena’s parent company is constantly becoming an attack target of the South East Asian gamer community.

Just a few hours after a Vietnamese gamer is up to a report on the price status of the skin at the Vietnam League of Legends Server, another League of Legends player from the Philippine  again continues to post an article about Garena’s on Reddit.

Garena’s parent company lost 1.46 billion USD in 2019

According to this gamer, Garena’s parent company is currently falling into a loss status, resulting in Garena having to strengthen the creation of many events to compensate for that amount:

I’m from PH.

When we try to download a replay now, we’re stuck with this:

One of the things I like before is the web match history but they removed it last month. Now it looks like this:

Note that there’s no login link ANYWHERE on the site.

There’s a link to the forums but when you click it you get:

OP.GG notification about Garena:

They’re also shoving the client full of gambling mini-games designed to suck our wallets dry. Here’s an info about one of them:

Garena support is also non-existent. Their emails and numbers don’t work. They’re only active in their facebook page and when you reach out about issues, you won’t get a reply. As a competitive League of Legends player living in Southeast Asia, this is truly frustrating.

EDIT: More things to note:

Clash was completely removed.

Lots of past news articles report that all Garena employees in the Philippines were fired and the offices were closed. Other players from countries under Garena SEA (aside from SG) also said that their local Garena offices were shut down. All that is remaining to manage League of Legends in Southeast Asia is Garena Singapore.

The fact that some features of the current League of Legends are “not available” is true, however, information about the losses of the Garena’s parent company – SEA Group Group is not verified. And so, there is also no basis to affirm that some features are cut off as well as promotional events of the League of Legends that are related to this issue. Therefore, the information shared from the aforementioned gamers is for reference only.

The fact that in recent times, Garena’s series of events also frequently stumbled across a lot of mixed opinions, however these events are merely stimulating the player buy items ingame.
