Gen.G Ruler: “Zeri still needs a lot more hammering”

Zeri has been adjusted 12 times since her debut, but it has seemed to go nowhere!

Brought to live servers in early 2022 as a new marksman, Zeri has shown her ultimate power by being constantly nerfed in many patches. As stated by statistics from Riot’s updates, the girl from Zaun had been hammered 12 times in 9 patches (including hotfixes). There’s a joke from some players that she is honestly the second Akali.

Zeri’s power is obviously off the table when even pro players have to complain about her. Recently, Ruler – the ADC of Gen.G, said that this champion remained too OP, especially her poking W, despite uncountable nerfs. He also admitted that it was one of the factors helping him to beat DK in the latest match.

Ask: You had a really great game using Zeri. How do you feel about this champion?

Gen.G Ruler: Actually, we had difficulties fighting against DK in all 3 games. In the last one, we found that we would have a lot of advantages if making use of Zeri’s long-ranged W. Her W is still “illegal” and needs nerfing in the future.

A little information for you is that the AD ratio of Zeri’s W is 130% and deals critical damage when hitting through terrains. This enables her to build AD items to optimize AAs but have incredible AP poking, even stronger than mages.

In the match between Gen.G and DK, Ruler ruined many plans from DK by using Zeri’s W accurately. This skill even slew 2 key members of DK and brought Gen.G a spectacular win. Clearly, an AD marksman being able to deal enormous AP damage like that is unacceptable.

Hopefully, Riot will have an eye on both her stats and kit, so that the bot lane may be more balance.
