Guide for reworked Udyr Jungle

League of Legends players, the storm has arrived on Summoner’s Rift. Riot Games’ latest aesthetic and gameplay update for Udyr is now online, and he’s ready to take over the jungle with the power of the demigods.

Because of his simple costume, Udyr has been one of the easiest champions to master since his League debut in 2009. Fans began to trash the champion and his outmoded design in a period when releases like Aphelios and Bel’Veth were rampaging about with sophisticated kits.

Runeterra’s favorite Spirit Walker now has a redesigned array of skills that should help him stay up with today’s current champion releases, thanks to a new take on his iconic four-stance ability set.

There’s no need to panic if you think Udyr has lost his original style. He still plays in the “chase down” manner, when he bulldozes through his opponents with his head down to get to the backline. However, as an AP bruiser-type champion, he should seek out some unique builds to help him carve out a niche in the meta.

Here is the best jungle build for reworked Udyr in season 12.

Runes for Urdy Jungle

Precision

Conqueror: Udyr derives a lot of his power from continually switching forms and weaving his two enhanced auto attacks against adversaries, which means he’ll be able to stack Conqueror rapidly amongst the numerous basic attacks he’ll dish out on top of the area-of-effect damage from his Wingborne Storm stance.

Triumph: When Udyr enters a team fight, he’ll need all the survivability he can muster while hurling himself into the conflict. His Iron Mantle posture provides him with some tankiness and healing, but Triumph is still one of the finest ways to stay strong while eliminating any members of the other team.

Legend: Tenacity: When Udyr is bogged down by crowd control, he loses a lot of efficacy, whether he’s trying to find a decent flank angle in a team fight or bulldozing his way through to the backline with his Blazing Stampede stance. The increased tenacity should be appreciated by any top laner or jungler, especially when facing CC-heavy lineups.

Last Stand: Last Stand is an excellent choice for Udyr because he will be the front lining for his team and absorb a lot of damage, allowing him to optimize his own damage output as his health begins to dwindle.

Sorcery

Celerity: Udyr needs a way to grab the upper hand on his unsuspecting adversaries when he tries for ganks because he currently lacks a gap-closing ability like a dash or jump. As a result, Celerity is an excellent rune to pair with Udyr’s Blazing Stampede ability, making him extremely difficult to react to once he’s started coming at you with his head down.

Waterwalking: This rune is another excellent tool for increasing Udyr’s ganking potential, as the majority of his ganks will come from the river. Laners should have a difficult time reacting to his attacks with the extra move speed unless they’ve warded extremely successfully around the jungle and river locations.

Items for Urdy Jungle

Hailblade is an excellent choice for Udyr because it allows him to close the gap on any champion who lacks a dependable sprint or jump. Once he has upgraded his standard Smite to Chilling Smite, he can go right towards an opposing champion and substantially slow them before smashing them with a variety of abilities.

The double burn damage from Sunfire Cape and Demonic Embrace is a great item combo. Udyr will deal a ton of damage over time in a team fight with his blizzard constantly activating around him and his enemies if he first maxes out his Wingborne Storm ability. The damage from his Awakened Wingborne Storm can take out many champions, yet the Sunfire and Mercury’s Treads provide him with enough tank stats to keep him alive.

In the later stages of a game, Dead Man’s Plate and Force of Nature can benefit Udyr by giving him a ton of extra movement speed to traverse Summoner’s Rift in quest of a swift gank or pick. The former will assist him in pursuing foes, while the latter will assist him in powering through the most difficult frontline CC to unleash a devastating beatdown on the squishier backline.

Spirit Visage, on the other hand, will operate in tandem with his Iron Mantle to improve both his self-healing and shielding, allowing him to withstand a hit while dishing one back. Thornmail is an excellent choice against strong auto-attacking champions who can kite you from a distance.
