What we know about Riot Forge and their upcoming game, Hextech Mayhem
Riot Forge was revealed as part of Riot’s 10-year anniversary celebration, in which Riot announced their intention to start licensing the League of Legends IP to other developers so that they may build their own games on the popular world of Runeterra.
The Ruined King, the initial game unveiled with Riot Forge, is receiving updates, but Hextech Mayhem has jumped to the front and already has a release date.
Hextech Mayhem, starting Ziggs (and Heimerdinger), League of Legends’ crazy Yordle. Players will make their way throughout the city of Piltover by running, jumping to the beat of lively background music.
The game’s visual style depicts the already ridiculous-looking Yordles in a simplified, cartoony way. The teaser shows side-scrolling action in which Ziggs must hit floating objects that match the game’s music’s rhythm, all while chaining gratifying drum rhythms that give his explosions great intensity.
With that being said, the game will be released on November 16 for the Nintendo Switch, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com, as well as Netflix’s upcoming gaming service.
