International web-based newspapers are continually publishing posts about this hot news of Worlds 2021!
A few hours ago, Tyler Erzberger from Upcomer informed that Riot Games were about to announce the relocation of Worlds 2021 from China to Europe. The original reason was that Riot Games failed to complete the entry into China of foreign teams because of COVID-19.
LPL Summer Split 2021 has been currently taking place with no audiences since the outset of the Playoffs. COVID-19 is now having severe damage to this country, and they are strengthening the entry control to prepare for a new campaign against this disease. As a result, if Worlds 2021 is held by China, many teams will not be able to join because of this policy.
Worlds 2021 was previously planned to occur in Shanghai, Wuhan, Tsingtao, Chengdu, and Shenzhen. Last year, Worlds 2020 had to observe no offline spectators (apart from the Grand Final with a limited number of audiences). This was the reason why China was accepted to be the host nation of Worlds 2021 as compensation for this country.
The last time Europe held a World Championship was in 2019, and it was also the last international tournament allowing audiences to join. In fact, the current state of COVID-19 in this region is not much better than the others. For example, the UK is one of the countries having the worst condition of this disease with over 32.000 infections per day.
However, in the UK and other European countries, large sports tournaments are still taking place with the appearance of offline spectators. Premier League has allowed audiences to enter their stadiums since the beginning of the season 2021-2022. At the present, most of the European citizens have been vaccinated, and Riot want to make use of this to have a World Championship with the participation of audiences. Nevertheless, the exact host nation has not been published.
