Riot recently introduced some huge surprise modifications to the PBE server’s jungle.
One of the most distinctive and important roles in League of Legends is the jungle. Instead of laning in this role, you explore the map, engage in monster combat, and support your laners.
A Jungler can have a huge impact on a game and, if they are good enough, shift the course of any game because their role is largely focused on roaming. Despite this, the role can be very difficult for inexperienced players because it necessitates a substantial amount of game knowledge, map awareness, and communication abilities. It can be challenging to adjust to this job, even for seasoned players who often play other roles.
As a result, Riot Games declared during the preseason that they would be changing the Jungle role. To make the Jungle more welcoming to new players, new Jungle Pets and Avatar Smites will also be added.
Riot just revealed some surprising Jungle modifications to Jungle invading along with the changes. These significant adjustments have caused some debate among the players. Let’s examine the changes.
Huge jungle changes: invading
- You do significantly less damage to your opponent’s Jungle camps. (About 20% less)
- Smaller camps despawn after some time if left without Large monsters nearby.
For champions who consistently invade, the initial modification is highly important. Because it takes a lot longer to do opponents’ camps or invade early, players are less motivated to start at the opponent’s camps. For early-weak junglers, this will be a huge buff. Despite the worries of some players, we think that overall, the adjustments will be good for everyone, especially newer players.
The second adjustment will halt some obnoxious counter-jungle techniques and is more of a quality-of-life improvement. This modification is also beneficial and will be very helpful to novice players.
