ARAM is one of the most beloved game modes in League of Legends, having been introduced back in 2012. It stands as one of the last two permanent game modes in the game, alongside Summoner’s Rift.
However, ARAM has always been geared towards a casual audience, making it a great way for players to just have fun with friends without the pressure of ranked gameplay. This casual appeal has led to a surge in popularity over recent years, particularly among those who prefer a more relaxed experience.
For much of its lifespan, ARAM was largely neglected by Riot Games in terms of major updates or new content. But starting in 2022, Riot began to shift its focus and started delivering more frequent balance and quality-of-life updates to ARAM. And now, Riot Games is preparing to release a substantial update that will bring exciting new features to ARAM.

LoL New ARAM Map
Recently, Riot revealed that ARAM will soon be getting a brand-new map. The teaser includes images showcasing this upcoming map, which is inspired by the regions of Zaun and Piltover.
The map’s visual design takes players on a journey through these two iconic regions from the League of Legends universe. One side of the map, often referred to as the Purple side, seems to be based on Zaun, featuring architecture and structures powered by shimmer, a substance introduced in the hit animated series Arcane.
Meanwhile, the opposite side, known as the Blue side, is inspired by Piltover and is characterized by technology powered by Hextech.
This new map feels like a fresh departure from the traditional Howling Abyss map, which ARAM players have been accustomed to for years. Visually, the map offers a great blend of steampunk and magical technology, echoing the contrasts between Zaun and Piltover. While the visual design alone is captivating, Riot has hinted that the map might also introduce new mechanics, though the specifics of these changes have yet to be revealed.
Release Date
As of now, Riot Games has not confirmed an official release date for the new ARAM map. However, speculation points towards a possible release in November, with many players anticipating its arrival in either Patch 14.22 or 14.23.
