A League of Legends player used Soraka’s perfectly innocuous ultimate ability to take down an opponent champion on the opposite side of the map.
League of Legends is home to a large and varied roster of champions. Each champion is from a different region of Runeterra, all with their own destructive power and abilities, well, not all. Support champions, for example, don’t hail this kind of monstrous killing kit, but instead a calm and healing one.
Soraka is a healer champion whose core gameplay loop relies on sacrificing her health to heal allies. As a result, many of Soraka’s abilities are not high-damage spells, but instead rely on her utility.
A League of Legends player got a kill with Soraka ult
On League of Legends subreddit, a user by the name Fraxton posted a post that is quite interesting to look at first. On Summoner’s Rift, he was playing Soraka. As a Soraka player, he was carrying out his primary responsibility of keeping the allies alive.
When he noticed that Anivia was losing health, he used Soraka’s ultimate, hoping to save Anivia from an early death. Sadly, Anivia still got executed, but what Fraxton didn’t anticipate was to receive a 900-gold payoff for shutting down the enemy Kayn.
Seem strange, right? A global heal from Soraka can actually execute the enemy. This was because to the freshly added Echoes of Helia item that an unnoticed Soraka ultimate might theoretically deliver damage.
When you inflict damage to enemies, this item generates charges, which are then used when you help an ally by healing the ally and delivering damage to any surrounding enemies.
Because Echoes of Helia proceeded particularly on Anivia, the nearest adversary, aka Kayn, was hit with the damage and killed. The odds of this happening are extremely slim, but Fraxton can use the extra cash to buy more wards for their team.
