League Patch 11.9 will also be the official version of the upcoming MSI event.
If you’re tired of champions like Hecarim and Udyr chasing you down at tremendous speed, don’t worry, Riot Games has plans in the upcoming League Patch 11.9. According to League’s gameplay design director Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, Riot is tuning both Turbo Chemtank and Dead Man’s Plate down in the next version of the game.
Significant movement speed has become the best strategy for several meta champions, including Hecarim, Udyr, and even Rell, over the last few updates. Since these champions already had a lot of moving speed to begin with, the item can further boost their presence even more exponentially.
There’s no way you’ll be quicker than a pony with a Chemtank as its Mythic item, whether you’re chasing them down or retreating. Also Dead Man’s Plate, with its unique Shipwrecker passive, had a considerable amount of speed while also providing a decent amount of armor and health.
If the upcoming nerfs to Hecarim in League Patch 11.9 are big enough, we will see a step away from the champion. However, on the other side of the Rift, a few healing items, such as the ever-popular Moonstone Renewer, will be improved.
With many players preferring champions like Karma, Lulu, and Seraphine as support options, Moonstone has become one of the game’s best items thanks to the extra heals it puts on top of the champions’ built-in team healing. The item’s influence has recently been shifted, so many League fans will be interested to see what facets will be enhanced.
The 2021 Mid-Season Invitational will be held on League Patch 11.9, so expect Riot to have a full patch preview later this week. With just a few weeks before the tournament, teams should have plenty of time to train for competition in Iceland. Patch 11.9 should hit the Rift on April 28 according to the Patch schedule.
