Riot Games has made several significant changes to the League of Legends PBE server, including the addition of player profile borders. League used to have a level 30 account cap. Before you could play ranked, you had to reach level 30 and unlock every rune and mastery slot. The level cap was then eliminated in 2018, and players may now begin playing with entire rune pages from level 1.

The redesigns were shown by Skin Spotlights in a YouTube video, changing every single profile border from level one to level 500. While some borders have small modifications that maintain the structure of the present system, others, such as the level 125 border, have seen changes to their design and color scheme.

The borders appear to be cleaner and more realistic than they were previously. The former ones were a little too complex, with a lot going on. However, the new borders are simpler yet more appealing.

Riot is modifying the profile borders for the first time since its first release four years ago. And it is a significant upgrade that complements the League client’s revamp throughout the years to make everything appear more modern in general.

The improved profile borders will most likely be available on live servers with the upcoming patch 12.7, which is set to be released on Wednesday, April 13. The patch will also feature a number of changes to the jungle meta.
