According to rumours, the new Legendary+ skin tier will contain special in-game effects
Riot Games may be working on a completely new League of Legends skin tier dubbed Legendary+. The skin tier will come after the ultimate skins but before the legendaries.
Riot Games’ scaling approach includes regularly updating champion skins. Despite the theft of its source code and the lack of new updates, the firm was able to add new skins to the game.
New Legendary+ skins will have special VFX and finishers
Fans recently chastised the Legendary Mythmaker Irelia skin, claiming it was a “pay-to-lose” skin due to delays in her auto attacks, which caused players to miss CS.
Now, Riot Games is rumored to be planning the introduction of a new cosmetic tier dubbed Legendary+ for League of Legends. BigBadBear, a renowned YouTuber and leaker, revealed this information earlier this week.
Riot Games suggested last year that they were working on new skin effects for League of Legends. Although Riot has yet to confirm it, the Legendary+ skin tier will purportedly offer one-of-a-kind effects when players successfully complete specific in-game finishers, like as eliminating enemy turrets, scoring a kill, or properly completing major objectives.
Big Bad Bear has posted a video with skin effect samples from two existing legendary skins: PROJECT: Mordekaiser and Storm Dragon Lee Sin. The video depicts the concept behind the new skin tier, which apparently costs between 2200 and 2600 RP.
Because League of Legends has never experienced these effects before, integrating them may provide substantial challenges for the current version of the game or the future devaluation of Legendary skins.
The new skin tier was previously planned to be made available for fans in the forthcoming League of Legends event set to take place around the end of February. However, it currently appears that they will appear at the “Big Summer Event” in July 2023.
