Cloud9 has stated that coach Nick ‘LS’ De Cesare has been released after only four games in the LCS 2022 season
The signing of LS to Cloud9 was one of the most surprising transactions of the LCS off-season. However, only 4 games into his three-year deal, the popular content has been fired. Cloud9 supporters were taken aback when the club’s new head coach, LS, was fired just hours before their match versus CLG on February 19.
The popular content creator helped guide the team to a 3-1 start to the season, and his unconventional drafting method earned a lot of attention to both the club and the LCS.
With LS gone, Jankos thinks there is no motivation to watch LCS
On February 20, Jankos was streaming when he found out that LS had been fired as head coach. Jankos commented on the matter, stating that the LCS will be less appealing to follow from now on.
“I’m sure people will still watch Cloud9 because they want to see how they crumble after LS is out, but I’m sure also a lot of people will not watch because they want to see interesting drafts and Cloud9 just won’t provide that anymore,”
“For me, there’s no reason to watch NA anymore now that Cloud9 doesn’t have interesting drafts.”
Jankos went on to remark that he would not want LS to coach his team but would rather watch him with his drafts. “I don’t think I’d like to play these drafts myself,” he said, “but I think it’s fun to watch them.”
According to Jankos, he believes that LS non-traditional draft is what makes fans feel fun about the tournament, which also helps C9 to discover more unique meta.
