League of Legends will receive new Lunar Skins in 2023, as two new skin lines are set to be released early next year
Lunar Skins will be introduced at the start of each year as part of the League of Legends tradition. This is to commemorate the Chinese New Year.
Porcelain and Firecracker skins were added to 2022 last year. These cosmetic lines included Ezreal, Lux, Amumu, Kindred, Lissandra, Xin Zhao, Tristana, Diana, Sett, and Teemo. Lunar Revel will have two skin lines in 2023, just like it did in 2022.
New Mythmaker skin coming in 2023
A new PBE trailer released today revealed a new future skin line, one of which will be the New Year’s theme for 2023 and will have a wealth of Chinese-themed skins for all sorts of champions. These new skins are known as Mythmakers.
Each skin relates to a unique Chinese culture, such as making paper lanterns, zodiac origami, cuisine, and flowers. The skin lines also resemble China’s traditional color scheme for the New Year’s theme: red and yellow.
The Mythmaker skin line is comprised of the following skins. All Mythmaker skins will be Epic, save for Mythmaker Irelia, who will receive the Legendary tier.
- Garen
- Galio
- Irelia
- Sivir
- Zyra
- Ashe
- Kha’Zix
- Malphite
- Qiyana
- Thresh
The skin line is scheduled to be launched in Patch 13.1. The patch will be available in January 2023. The specific date is yet uncertain, but we should find out shortly as season 13 reaches closer and closer.
