Lux and Sona Strategy is the newest way to play in Bot Lane Patch 10.16 without the main carry AD!
No ADC line-up has been getting used to League of Legends’ players through the time. And even then it has appeared a lot of times in professional championship! The newest couple, Lux and Sona, also has the enormous chance to survive in this game meta.
Why does Sona-Lux work as a bot lane duo?
So what is the base of this strategy? Basically, Sona is a very strong champion in the late game. Many teams realized that and used Taric or Tamp Kench to protect her. However, with this duo, your mid lane will be so passive and lose the early game easily, which leads to afterward difficulties.
With a great buff from Riot Games in patch 10.15 for Spellthief’s Edge, gamers have found out the new way for Sona to come back and now her partner is Lux, a Mage with very good lane control ability. A special feature of this strategy is that both of them use Spellthief’s Edge, try to upgrade it as soon as possible to maximize the strength from indicators.
The most special point of this duo, based on the multipurpose ability of this duo, your team will has enormous power in the mid-game. In an ordinary way, an ADC needs at least 2-3 items to reach their potential strength. It does not include that the team must cover to give them the best position and timing factor to win the combat.
On the other side, the Lux-Sona duo can be powerful when they have 1 item and finish their Frostfang. They can deal a big damage amount, strong healing, wide stunning, help your team to control the combat so good. Moreover, they can also buff for other teammates a huge power to win the early fight.
How to build Sona-Lux bot lane?
The building up style for Lux and Sona is not very different from the normal way. Both will start with Spellthief’s Edge, then think about the next item before Athene’s Unholy Grail, the cheap and effective one. Sona will get for her Seraph’s Embrace to ensure the energy and profuse magic damage, while Lux will use Ardent Censer to improve the whole team damage.
About Runes, Lux will choose Guardian Rune in Resolve to cover teammates, Sona still goes with Summon Aery to support in the best way.
However, Lux and Sona still remain big disadvantages for players to attack. Without ADC, it leads to that pushing and dealing damage in the late game is weaker and more reliant on other lane champions. Moreover, this duo has low health, joining in Solo/Duo Rank with Assasin Meta now is not a good idea.
About counter, you should not play this duo if you see the enemy team going with strong counter champions like Blitcrank or Pyke. A piece of advice is playing it if you have a trustable partner to have the good experience of this strategy!
