MrBeast has been rumored to be buying an LCS team for months, and he finally confirmed it on the Worlds 2022 Finals
MrBeast is one of the world’s most popular content creators, and he’s branched out beyond video creation. He stated two years ago that he wishes to start a League of Legends team. But he has remained completely silent since then.
During the pre-show for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship finals match between T1 and DRX, MrBeast not only discussed the possibility of owning a team spot, but he also revealed his ambition to form his own LCS team in person.
“100%” purchasing an LCS team
Riot welcomed The Beast himself to be a guest on the desk ahead of the Finals, where he explained his enthusiasm for the game. When Azael questioned MrBeast on the analyst desk about acquiring an LCS team, he said, “100%.”
On the other hand, MrBeast stated that he wants to make sure he’s doing it correctly and at the appropriate moment, since he wants a team he invests in to reach the Worlds finals—something no LCS team has ever done before.
“Oh, yeah. 100%. The question is when. When we do it, I want to have a team that makes it to a stage like this,”
“It might be another year or two but, yeah, 100%.”
As of currently, no team from the 2022 LCS season has withdrawn from the league for the next 2023 season. However, due to poor results throughout the year, most teams are likely to make significant roster changes over the summer.
