League players who were looking forward to the reveal of the newest champion Briar have had their joy dashed because everything has been revealed ahead of time, leaving them spoilt on the information buried beneath Riot’s brilliant teases.
Briar’s entrance to League so soon after Naafiri’s has caught players off guard. Yet, her whole kit and splash art were released before of time, ruining the surprise.
Because champions are so uncommon, fans are disappointed that so much of Briar’s appearance and skills have been leaked. Especially given how wonderfully the teaser content for her release has been received.
LoL players are fed up with Briar leaks
In League of Legends, or any games, leaks have been impossible to avoid. With her splash art and skills being compared to other champions (Warwick), her kit and design are already a hot subject in the community.
Dumbs, a League of Legends content creator, blasted out leakers on Twitter for spoiling what might have been one of the best champion teasers ever.
“I’m actually so mad at the Briar leaks right now. WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN ONE OF THE BEST TEASERS EVER FOR A NEW CHAMPION. There’s just a random tab that says “forbidden” and you can hear eerie whistling. IMAGINE IF WE DIDN’T GET SPOILED AND THEY JUST DROPPED THIS MAN”
Currently on the League client, players will see a tab labelled ‘Forbidden’ that displays a row of jail cells, one at the end of the hall presumably holding Briar.
This might be something to get excited about if Briar’s complete kit hadn’t been leaked ahead of time, with the eerie whistling and generally creepy images.
Another League content creator weighed in on the matter, claiming that the leaks were exciting at first, but now it’s every single champion, making the teaser of the champion not so special anymore.
However, Briar’s unveiling and how she fits into the League of Legends universe may still be shrouded in mystery. What Riot has in store for us is unknown.
