Patch 11.8 hotfix introduces buffs for Gwen after her unsuccessful release

Gwen is getting some much-needed buffs in League of Legends just hours after her debut, with Riot assisting the Hallowed Seamstress on patch 11.8. She began with one of the lowest win percentages in League history, slipping below 39%.

Gwen has finally landed in League of Legends, but she doesn’t seem to be the real-life doll she’s been designed to be.

Her win percentage within the first 24 hours of her launch was an abysmal 38.6 percent in all ranks, according to analytics site u.gg. This dropped as low as 37.9 percent at Platinum+.

Although new champions usually start with a win percentage of less than 45 percent, the 38.6 percent is one of the lowest in quite some time. Just Yuumi, who debuted in 2018 and has a winning record of 30.72 percent, is similar to Gwen.

Riot pressed out an urgent hotfix and attempt to bring some strength to the Hallowed Seamstress’s kit.

The modifications were not excessive. Gwen’s Q, Snip Snip, now has more base damage while she will also receive some bonus base amor stat. The armor enhancement will benefit her in the laning process, especially against AD champions in the top lane.

The Q adjustments are indeed a welcome addition. The ability’s base damage has been improved at all ranks, and the scaling has been cleaned up to entire amounts.

The updates have now been implemented in League of Legends patch 11.8. The newly-reworked Jungler – Rammus was also hotfixed after a Predator bug caused him to run much faster than expected.
