Many players believe that the “new” Gold rank borders in Season 12 match the Bronze rank
As we all know, with the arrival of season 12 of League of Legends, Riot changes the rank borders for all ranks from Iron to Challenger. Although it is understandable that Riot is attempting to modernize its more than ten-year-old game, the borders for season 12 are quite awful and have been harshly criticized by players.
And, after about a month of listening to their players’ opinions, Riot Games has stated that they will thoroughly update the League of Legends loading screen rank borders. According to Jordan Checkman, the lead designer of league’s rank, the complete rank borders will be updated so that it is brighter and easier to distinguish than before.
Riot revealed the updates back in February 4, in response to community criticism, they thoroughly update the borders with a more rendering quality updated, along with the contrast improvement between champions and background.
The most noticeable modification will be in the frames at the platinum and diamond ranks, which will have extra textures to appear more chromatic. Furthermore, the Silver and Gold borders will have a considerably brighter color, emphasizing the character of this level.
Essentially, the rank borders depict that player’s rank at the end of the season. So, regardless of whether your ranks are Silver, Gold, or Diamond, a stunning rank border with great aesthetics is always something that players want.
Fans should expect these updates to arrive on the live servers along with patch 12.5.
