League of Legends and the Riot Games balancing team are speeding toward Season 13 preseason, but there’s 1 final patch on the way.
With the League of Legends preseason 13 just around the corner, Riot Games will not be making many changes to the game other than resolving some of the outliers that are currently present.
Head dev Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison has stated that patch 12.21 would be quite short, bringing minor tweaks to a few of champions in the game. Patch 12.21 of League of Legends will not be huge in any way, with the release simply delivering modifications to a handful of champions.
“Patch is short and sweet this week. The team is heading down on making sure that Preseason is at the quality level to go out the door. Really excited. Only addressing significant outliers that aren’t overly affected by the changes.”
Patch 12.21 changes
Champions buffs
- Ahri
- Corki
- Malzahar
- Xin Zhao
- Rumble
Xin Zhao is one such outlier at the end of Season 12.
While the champion had a long run in the spotlight earlier this season, even appearing twice at the World Championship, his solo queue win rate has dipped slightly.
Last-hit assist will be granted to the Malzahar and Rumble buffs, making it much simpler for champions to last-hit minions with auto attacks. Riot Games is also expected to buff Ahri and Corki as well, with the goal of reintroducing them into the competitive scene.
Champions nerfs
- Blitzcrank
- Bel’Veth
- Miss Fortune
The nerfs for Bel’Veth and Miss Fortune have been a long time coming. Both champions are currently doing exceptionally well in solo queue, and some nerfs will be implemented to tone them down and make them more balanced ahead of the preseason.
Blitzcrank will also be nerfed in the forthcoming patch 12.21. This is in response to his most recent set of buffs. The nerfs will mostly aim at his support role, tuning him down as Blitzcrank is currently the highest win rate support in solo queue.
League of Legends patch 12.21 is set to be released next week, on November 3, and is slated to be the final patch before preseason 13 goes live.
