Players want changes to the Remake system, stating that it is “a problem for League and its community”

In reaction to disconnected or AFK at the start of games, League of Legends players are requesting improvements to the remake system

Disconnecting or AFKing at the start of a League of Legends match is quite common these days. By that, it forces the other team members to play the rest of the game with a huge disadvantage. Riot decided to build the Remake System in approach to this issue. To prevent having to play an entire unwanted game, this method allows players to vote to stop the game early on.

Currently, teammates can enter /remake after 3 minutes or after a player has been disconnected for 90 seconds. There will be two voteable options: “yes” for the remake or “no” to continue. If there’s only 1 player disconnected, 2 players must vote yes in order to end the game.

This was a great feature that Riot implement in the game back then, but it could still be improved to cope with the situation these days.

Players want updates to the remake system

On the official League of Legends subreddit, a Reddit user by the name Distinger_ revealed his experiences with the system and stated how the current system is out-of-date and it should not be an option.

The player recounted a recent game in which he attempted to surrender after 3 minutes owing to two players disconnecting. The remake was started by Distinger_, but it was shut down, and all following efforts were similarly prevented.

I just played a game where my ADC and Top disconnected shortly after buying items, they were in game for less than 10 seconds. At minute 3 they were still AFK so I made a Remake vote, but my teammates didn’t want to. I checked the game on Porofessor and the 2 afk’s and the Supp were premades, so I guessed they were going to come back soon.”

“Guess what, they didn’t come back, and the subsequent surrender votes were all cancelled.”

This issue caused players to demand that the system be changed, wondering if it is too hard for Riot to end the game when a player is disconnected in the first three minutes.

Other comments on the post also agree with the statement, saying the remake system should undergo a major modification.  Players even suggest implementing dota2 approach, which has many positive feedbacks.

Every League of Legends player has experienced disconnects or AFKs at the start of a match, but it is ultimately up to Riot to correct the problem.
