While Riot Games has yet to respond to users’ demands for a custom-made Summoner’s Rift in League of Legends, some players have made this PROJECT map
From replicating the Winter Summoner’s Rift map to developing a new one from scratch, League of Legends modders have astounded both players and creators with their incredible creativity.
PROJECT: Summoner’s Rift, a 5vs5 map set in the popular PROJECT universe, was built by users from killerskins.com. Ryscu, a YouTube League content creator, just revealed the map in one of his videos.
PROJECT is a set of alternate skins in League that show League’s champions as individuals with enhanced cybernetic abilities and intelligent systems.
It is clear from the start that the map has been modified, since certain textures and components appear old and unfinished. In any case, the modders did an excellent job.
PROJECT: Summoner’s Rift includes a future map that appears to be lifted directly from the city in which the universe of PROJECT takes place. The map is littered with reactors, neon lighting, and gleaming platforms, giving the impression that this is how PROJECT would be constructed. It even features a modified Baron Nashor, who appears to be a cyborg creature from the future.
For quite some time, players have been requesting that Riot bring back the Summoner’s Rift map themes. One of the developers stated that the developers are exploring options to achieve this, but there have been no updates since then.
Interestingly enough, these kinds of customed skins for Summoner’s Rift won’t get you banned, according to Ryscu. Ryscu also mentions in the video description that the map would be ready “in one week,” so players should be able to experience the redesigned, fan-made Summoner’s Rift as early as January 9.
