It’s officially the start of Worlds season, and Riot Games has revealed the complete schedule for the biggest esports event of the year, the League of Legends World Championship.
Worlds is a celebration of an entire year’s worth of competition in the LoL esports scene, and this year, it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before.
Recently, Riot posted the full calendar for the tournament on Twitter. The event kicks off with the pick’em challenge on Sept. 18 for the Play-in stage. This popular prediction game lets League fans test their knowledge of the competitive scene by guessing match outcomes, with exciting rewards up for grabs for those who predict correctly.
Along with the pick’em, Riot will also release the official Worlds 2024 anthem, which has become a much-anticipated part of the event. Rumors are circulating that Linkin Park may be the leading candidate to headline the opening ceremony, adding even more excitement to this year’s event.
As part of the festivities, Viego was confirmed as the featured champion for this year’s Worlds skin, with the skin set to be released on September 25 to coincide with the launch of Patch 14.19.
Fans have even more to look forward to, as Patch 14.19 will not only introduce the Worlds event pass but also debut the spooky Fright Night skin line, including a terrifying new look for Shaco. The Ultimate Spellbook mode will also return during the event. Additionally, a brand-new skin drop is planned for October 23, kicking off Patch 14.21.
We already have the full schedule for Worlds 2024, which will begin with the Play-in stage on September 25. After that, the quarterfinals will take place on October 17, followed by the semifinals on October 26, and finally, the grand finals will be held on November 2.
Worlds 2024 will officially begin on Wednesday, September 25, with the opening match between MAD Lions KOI and Vikings Esports. This exciting matchup will mark the start of what promises to be an unforgettable tournament season.
