As the highly anticipated 2024 League of Legends World Championship draws near, there are reports that this year’s exclusive Worlds skin may have been leaked.
The League of Legends World Championship is one of the biggest events in Esports each year, attracting millions of fans from around the world. Starting on September 25, 2024, players will be able to watch their favorite teams from various regions battle it out for the prestigious title of World Champions.
In celebration of this iconic tournament, Riot Games traditionally releases a special set of skins known as Worlds skins, which have become an essential part of the game since their introduction in 2011.
Last year, the 2023 Renekton skin made quite an impression among players, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Following in that tradition, a new Worlds skin will be released this year.
However, although the championship is still a few weeks away, Riot has yet to officially announce which champion will receive the 2024 skin. Despite the lack of a formal reveal, there have been teasers and leaks, sparking excitement and speculation among the League of Legends community.
According to reports, there are currently two strong contenders for this year’s Worlds skin: Lux and Viego.
The first possible recipient is Lux, one of the most beloved champions in League of Legends. Riot has already hinted at this by releasing two new Worlds-themed emotes for Lux, called “It’s MINE!” and “AWW YEAH!” These emotes have led many fans to believe that Lux will be the champion receiving this year’s exclusive skin.
The second candidate is Viego. During the Worlds 2024 Draw Show, artwork of Viego was prominently featured, further fueling speculation that Viego might be getting the coveted Worlds skin. Some fans have even wondered if the Ruination skin line could be returning, although this seems less likely.
Like previous years, the Worlds 2024 skin will be classified as an Epic skin and will cost 1350 RP. While Riot has not yet confirmed the exact release date for the skin, it is expected to arrive with Patch 14.19, which is scheduled for release on September 25, 2024.
