The LCS playoffs for League of Legends have been announced recently to be moved from the Prudential Center to the LCS Arena in Los Angeles, according to Riot Games.
The COVID pandemic has been, if not, affected greatly on the entire world, and the Esport industries are no exception. And because of this, Riot Games must shift the destination of the 2021 LCS Championship from Prudential Center to the LCS Arena in L.A.
The LCS Championship will be held at the LCS Arena
Even though many countries had decided to have their people vaccinated, Riot Games didn’t have the chance so, and everything weren’t as planned so they decided to take a “plan B’ for the tournament.
Riot Games wants the event to be held in the LCS Arena because they are concerned about the health and safety of the players. Riot believes that putting players’ health at risk merely to satisfy League of Legends’ competitive appetite is not worth it. It’s critical to make sure that players are secure and that they may play without worry.
Riot Games mentioned:
“While we expect other shows and sporting events to press on through this period, the LCS does not need to take health and safety risks in order to produce its core competitive product. Pivoting all postseason operations to the LCS Arena in Los Angeles provides a safer environment for everyone, and helps ensure our Worlds representatives will be healthy for their trip to China.”
Riot Games also said that the Prudential Center still remained a top-tier sporting event and will continue to be held for any LCS event in the future.
This demonstrates Riot’s responsibility and the efficiency with which they are carrying it out. This is a really respectable move by the firm, and while supporters may be disappointed at first, they will ultimately understand. The number of Covid-19 instances has been on the rise in the United States, and at this point, it seems sense to take extreme measures to preserve League of Legends.
