It’s no secret that Riot Games hasn’t been at the top of their game when it comes to their tournaments in recent years
There was a pause in a recent playoff game of the LCK, owing to a bug that Riot Games not only could not repair but also blamed on the players themselves, as they refused to recognize the bug’s existence because it had not been reported earlier.
Essentially, approximately 30 minutes into game two of a match between DWG KIA and KT Rolster, KT stopped the game for 45 minutes after Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram attempted to buy and then refund an item.
According to Ashey Kang, the game-breaking bug was discovered when Ornn’s upgraded Shieldbow was restored to its original form as Aiming purchased the refunded Stopwatch.
While this possibly game-breaking bug was alarming to many, Riot’s reply enraged them the most. Riot stated that the store issue could not be classified as a bug because no one was told before it occurred.
After considerable discussion, the game proceeded as planned, and KT Rolster was defeated. While there is no clear evidence to back up that the bug led KT Rolster to lose, it did not help.
Disturbingly, Riot Games is ignoring the problems that are showing up in League of Legends left and right, which have a high possibility of destroying professional games.
Riot Games has not yet replied to the KT Rolster situation or addressed the bug specifically. However, following such a major issue, people are expecting a fix soon.
