Riot Games is criticized for “favoring” Nocturne in recent patches

Nocturne’s domination on top-lane as well as in the jungle has been the main topic on a lot of LoL forums throughout recent patches.

Nocturne is now the top-tier option in recent pro leagues matches worldwide. This champion always plays an important role in the team wherever where he is used. This also occurs the same in the ranked ones.

We all have already known that Nocturne came back to the meta due to some huge buffs of Stridebreaker. So, in patch 11.13, to lessen him and some of his colleagues, Riot decided to get rid of the dash of this item. However, the buffs in its raw stats accidentally strengthened Nocturne! As a result, he is having approximately 54% win rate and 10.3% pick rate in Plat+ matches.

On Reddit, a lot of players said that Riot had not “held” any champions on the top like the case of Nocturne. If you still remember, at the outset of season 11, with the domination of Forgefire Crest, Amumu had become phenomenal before being nerfed in his kit also his core item.

According to recent stats on u.gg, no top-lane champions are having over 50% win rate when against Nocturne. Those stats are collected in Plat+ matches so that Nocturne is probably invincible when used by the mastered players.

In the upcoming patch 11.14, Riot decide to lessen him in solo lanes by decreasing 50% of healing of his passive when used on minions. This will weaken him a bit, but it is apparently not enough as his power in the jungle remains unchanged. From the community’s point of view, to completely nerf him, Riot also really need to take a look at Stridebreaker and Sterak. However, this solution seems quite risky as it will affect on the whole bruiser class.
