Shyvana might be in line for a VGU as Riot hints at her as a “strong contender”

When will be Shyvana’s turn?

Shyvana has finished second in the 2022 VGU voting for the updates for probably the third time in a row now. Riot Games acknowledged the need for an update to everyone’s favorite Half-Dragon and stated that she is a “strong contender” for a future update.

Recently, Riot Games has revealed that Skarner has won the vote for the upcoming VGU update with a dominating number of votes.

While Skarner was in severe need of a rework, Shyvana has been in the race for a long time now and always end up in second place with many fans’ disappointment.

However, all hope is not lost, as Riot took a minute to recognize the need for an update and stated that she will be remembered in their recent game updates for the voting results. When it comes to being picked by fans and Riot, Riot’s Lead Producer of Champions Reav3 described Shyvana as “forever-a-bridesmaid” and also a “strong contender” for any new rework outside the VGU vote.

“We know a lot of you are disappointed that our favorite half-dragon lady keeps getting so close to winning without ever taking the crown. Like many of you, we really want to see her updated because a badass half-dragon shifter has so much potential. As you know we don’t do votes for every VGU, like with Mundo. So while we can’t promise that Shyvana will be the next big VGU we do, she is a pretty strong contender for the next one we explore outside of a VGU vote.”

China’s champions voting result in 2019

While this is exciting news for players because fans have been craving for a Shyvana rework, keep in mind that she was the champion who received the most votes to remake from the Chinese League of Legends community, which suggests that Riot Games should consider reworking Shyvana as soon as possible.

Nonetheless, the concept was conceived in 2019 and has yet to be fulfilled.
