Sylas with new Everfrost and Cosmic Drive build rules Patch 11.4

Pro players such as Faker, Nuguri or Kiin are all building Everfrost and Cosmic Drive for Sylas.

In League Patch 11.4, Riot has made major adjustments to the items including Everfrost and Cosmic Drive in which the damage of each item has been greatly increased. Besides, Cosmic Drive will now even offers a great amount of ability haste stat (40 AH) when you possess more than 160 AP.

Besides Kassadin, one of the champions that directly benefit from these changes is Sylas. It can be seen that pro players like Faker, Nuguri and Kiin, etc are all using Everfrost and Cosmic Drive combo for him since the release of patch 11.4. This build has proved to be extremely efficient when it can interacting very well with his abilities that enable the Unshackled to reach full power in the middle phase of the match.

Everfrost has a crucial change, its passive: Glaciate casting time was reduced from 0.25 seconds to 0.15 seconds. This made the effectiveness of the slow effect and the rooting ability to become much better when applying on Sylas as it suits perfectly for his second E stun – Abduct. Once the skill is precisely casted, it can control an enemy champion within 2.5 sec if possessing Everfrost which long enough for him and his teammates to take down the enemy in the early game.

On the other hand, Cosmic Drive after being buffed to become the second perfect item as it provides up to 40 extra AH. When combining this item with Everfrost and Ionian Boots Of Lucidity, Sylas can possess more than 80 AH (equivalent to 45% cooldown reduction) in the mid-game. Thus, this incredibly high amount of Ability Haste will make his W – Kingslayer only have less than 4 seconds of cooldown and boots his damage output and recovery ability to a whole new level.

For Sylas with Everfrost and Cosmic Drive build, you should take ability haste points to increase cooldown reduction percent instead of adaptive damage for the Shards branch. You will get 4 points in Q – Chain Lash first to have stable damage in the early game. Then, players will maximize on W to take advantage of the large AH stats.

After owning two core items Everfrost and Cosmic Drive, you should buy the Zhonya’s Hourglass for Sylas as a defense item when being in a dangerous state. With 2.5 seconds of invulnerable, you can keep yourself alive to wait for W available to recover a large amount of health.

In short, since patch 11.4 launched on live server, Everfrost and Cosmic Drive have become extremely powerful items, especially for Sylas. Perhaps in the near future, the Sylas meta on Everfrost and Cosmic Drive will dominate both solo rank and professional tournaments with his outstanding power.
