T1 fan base demands changes to inexperienced coaching prior to Worlds

T1’s largest fan club in South Korea has been criticized for attempting to pressure the current LCK champions to make significant changes ahead of Worlds 2022

T1 has been playing incredibly solid in the current League of Legends season. Despite their incredible track record, the biggest T1 fan community in Korea is dissatisfied with their favorite team’s lack of actual excellence.

According to the fans, the supporters have asked T1 to fire Kim “moment” Ji-Hwan, citing the coach’s inexperience and poor track record, particularly after T1’s performance at MSI 2022 in May.

They fear T1 will repeat their MSI mistakes at Worlds and will fail if the team does not comply with the group’s expectations.

They went on to say that the “main reason” T1 failed in the Worlds 2021 semifinals was the “lack of coaching ability of current coaching staffs, which must be replaced by former-player coaching staffs that are more Worlds experience.”

This also included the dismissal of coaches Kim ‘Moment’ Ji-Hwan and Choi ‘Polt’ Seong-hun, whom the group blamed for all of T1’s recent losses. They pressed on, insisting that the coaches share detailed blueprints of their future goals and methods, as well as more active communication overall.

This isn’t the LCK’s first public exhibition of fanatical supporters. In reality, T1 Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok filed a lawsuit against haters only a few weeks ago. KT Rolster has also spoken out after threats and firearms were mailed to players’ training facility.

For now, T1 still hasn’t replied to the message.
